The world athletics championships are on in Korea, and it's been a poor start by Australia. Steve Hooker missed all three jumps in the pole vault qualifiers and Dani Samuels only just scraped in, in the discus. Mens 800m heats are currently being run and Brazil's Klebserson Davide currently leads heat 5.

USA's Leshawn Merrit has qualified fastest for the mens 400m final.
